Dogtooth (2010)

Dogtooth was an incredibly well-reviewed and well-received film. I don’t agree. It resembled The Village topically but goes for the jugular with visceral and dramatic scenes, where the camera fixes on a point drilling the moment into your brain. I had my share of problems with the way the story developed and parts where my suspension of disbelief couldn’t be held. It moved fast enough before becoming tiresome  but overall Dogtooth left me unimpressed.

And what is the one-word review “Hilarious” all-about? There were hilarious interactions, lines, etc. but as a worthy assignment for the DVD cover proves only that it’s marketing is confused and unable to target the right audience. The film is more sad than hilarious.
