Manhattan (1979)

Manhattan is a Woody Allen classic. Complete with his usual themes, comedy, and love of NY. The acting, directing, and dialogue are spot on. Unfortunately, the story falls a bit flat and certain scenes (hanging with his son) are added to keep the comedy up and change the pace- but without adding much to the film. There are some moments that could have been more profound but Woody delivers a joke and pops the momentum. The weak story though is easily compensated for by everything else the film has going for it.
