Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010)

Herzog’s latest documentary is truly something to behold. It offers images, art, locales, etc. that have never before been caught on film in such a deep and complete way. While Herzog often speculates and adds the extra, “hopes and dreams” type junk, the Chauvet Cave speaks for itself. Wrapping your mind around cave paintings that were done 30,000 to 32,000 years ago is a task. The 3D images effectively capture the dimensions and texture of both cave and painting.

You should see it.
