When I was kid I had rented the Captain America movie starring J.D. Salinger’s son. Man was it terrible.
Luckily, the latest version fares much better thanks to modern film techniques and editing, CGI, successful runs of comic to film adaptations, and a none too cheesey script. While it lacks the emotional/dramatic power of a Dark Knight / Batman Begins and also misses out on the acting quality of the first Iron Man and Thor, Captain America makes up for it with solid action montages, WWII era stylings, and clear-cut good versus evil struggles, making it a summer blockbuster film that won’t disappoint.
