Hollywood Ending (2002)

To quote a fairly recognized music-video, Hollywood Ending can be summed up as: “Not so good, Al.” Woody Allen’s character, movie Director Val, definitely has his funny bits and one-liners but a movie they do not make. The plot and goofy-struggles are a bit weak. It misses out on the intelligent and thought-provoking that are often identified in successful Allen films. Hollywood Ending also presents unbelievable love stories and fall-outs. And just before this release came Curse of the Jade Scorpion, and Small Time Crooks— that should say something about the calibre of this Woody Allen period.
